- 1904 - Jesse Tannehill throws a no-hitter against the White Sox, a team including his brother Lee Tannehill.
- 1929 - The New York Yankees purchase the contract of Lefty Gomez from the San Francisco Seals.
- 1948 - The first night game in NPB history is held at Yokohama Peace Stadium. The Chunichi Dragons top the Yomiuri Giants, 3-2, behind the pitching of Jiro Hoshida.
- 1993 - The Bellingham Mariners score 17 runs - in the 3rd inning - in a Northwest League rout of the Spokane Indians.
- 1999 - Jesse Orosco (pictured) appears in his 1,072nd major league game to break the record held by Dennis Eckersley.
