Ted Price
Edson D. Price
Biographical Information[edit]
Ted Price was a minor league outfielder and manager.
Price was with the Cedar Rapids Rabbits in 1901-1902. In 1903, he hit .251 for the Wheeling Stogies and took over managerial reigns during the year; he batted .236 as their player-manager in 1904. In 1906, he hit .290 for Wheeling and made the Central League top 10 in average. He batted .243 as the Stogies' player-manager in 1907 (and apparently managed the Joplin Miners briefly as well) and guided them for part of 1908 before moving to Cedar Rapids as skipper, replacing Belden Hill.
In 1909, Price is listed as manager of the Enid Railroaders by BR Minors but other sources list Tex Jones. He managed the Kewanee Boilermakers for part of 1910 and the Anadarko Indians for part of 1912.
His brothers Norm Price and Howard Price played in the minor leagues.
