Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ted Nicholson played in the Chicago White Sox organization from 1969 to 1970 and in 1973. He was the third overall pick in the 1969 amateur draft, however he never advanced above Single-A.

In his rookie professional season, Nicholson hit .248/.271/.327 with two home runs in 50 games for the GCL White Sox. In a pitcher-dominated Gulf Coast League, he was 7th in batting average. His 6 assists tied for second-most among outfielders. He made the GCL All-Star outfield alongside Gary Isakson and Kenneth Danson. He split 1970 between the Duluth-Superior Dukes and Appleton Foxes, hitting a combined .257 with nine home runs in 90 games. He played for the Foxes in 1973, hitting .222/.222/.333 in 12 games.

Overall, Nicholson hit .252 with 12 home runs in 152 games.
