Ted Gieschen has played in the Bundesliga. In 2007, he was 0-2 with a 8.68 ERA as a 15-year-old with the Haar Disciples. The next year, Ted improved to 2-3, 1.77. He was 4th in the southern Bundesliga-1 in ERA behind Philipp Hoffschild, former minor leaguer Eddie Aucoin and future minor leaguer Mike Bolsenbroek. He was 6th in opponent average (.213) and tied for fifth with two saves.

Gieschen fell to 3-4, 5.76 for the 2009 Disciples. He was 8th in the league in losses and fifth in walks. Ted made Britain's preliminary roster for the 2010 European Championship.
