Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Tanner Peters has played in the Oakland Athletics minor league system since 2011 (through 2014). He was drafted by the club in the 16th round of the 2011 amateur draft.

In his first professional campaign, he went 1-1 with a 1.35 ERA in 21 relief appearances, striking out 33 batters in 26 2/3 innings for the Vermont Lake Monsters. He made the New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star team that year. In 2012, he was 2-6 with a 3.28 ERA in 16 games (12 starts) between the Lake Monsters and Burlington Bees, with 73 Ks in 71 1/3 innings. He was 12-8 with a 4.07 ERA in 28 starts for the Stockton Ports in 2013, striking out 159 batters in 165 2/3 innings. The Baseball Cube ranked him as the best pitcher in the California League that year.

He began 2014 with the Double-A Midland RockHounds.
