Talk:Perry Lychak

Strange that he spent all of his career with Kinston in spite of pitching pretty well. He probably requested to stay there, given his marriage, and may have served as a quasi pitching coach given he quickly became one of the oldest players in the circuit. In 1985, the Edmonton Journal said he "hasn't let the disappointment of being assigned to Kinston for a fourth straight summer bother him" [1]. In 1986, he was with Knoxville during Spring Training [2], and was apparently supposed to be assigned to them, but was released at the beginning of April [3]. Two weeks later The Durham Herald Sun specifically referred to him as a "player-coach" for Kinston [4]. So it doesn't appear that he ever requested to be there, but for the last year, your guess is correct, he was doing some coaching. Jeff (talk) 01:29, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
