Talk:Perfect game

From BR Bullpen

Are the seven inning perfect games in Mexico, considered to be of the same caliber as the nine inning ones? What is the Mexican League's definition of a perfect game? --MichaelEng 16:45, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

My source lists them under the same heading, so I assume the definition is the same. - --Mischa 18:24, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

Gallaraga's perfect game[edit]

If a pitcher goes 28 up and 28 down, that must be a perfect game.

Should we mention games like Galarraga's and Haddix's on this page? - --Mischa 11:58, 4 June 2010 (EDT)

Haddix is on the page. Unfortunately for Galarraga, his game techincally is no different than Dave Stieb's or Brian Holman's. Yeah, the guy should have been out and he should have had his perfect game. But the guy was safe, and he didn't get it. If a fielder had made an error on out 27, nobody would be asking the commissioner to reverse the outcome and call it a perfect game. The umpire made an error, a very, very huge error. --Jeff 12:42, 4 June 2010 (EDT)

Humber & Nippon[edit]

And while I'm here, who's curating the Nippon League list? -- It has 3 superfluous columns and a non-perfect game on its list. Cuban X Senators

I reverted to reinstate Makihara's perfecto -- his is, I believe a perfect game, as the error in question resulted in a strike and not a batter reaching base. I'm afraid my lack of reading result in him being deleted. Cuban X Senators

Should we remove the Mexican League list now that it's all included in the new minor league list? - --Mischa (talk) 12:03, 19 August 2013 (EDT)

Minor League Perfect Games[edit]

I've parceled off the Minor League Perfect Games section into its own page as it was very lengthy and fits well within the circle of pages relative to minor league no-hitters. --Philippe (talk) 04:15, 25 August 2014 (EDT)
