Talk:Nat Peeples

From BR Bullpen

1) I hadn't realized how good Peeples was. Not a major league talent, but a superstar in the low minors and a competent player in AA. 2) I had always heard that the Southern Association never integrated. It's amazing that this fact isn't covered in Riley's encyclopedia or other Negro League sources I've read. - --Mischa (talk) 09:56, 26 July 2013 (EDT)

I too thought that the SA ha never integrated. But there is a page devoted to it in The Southern League. O'Neill spells it Peoples, but the book says that he couldn't eat or sleep with the team and was sent down to Jacksonville to replace Hank Aaron, who was called up to the majors. --Jeff (talk) 12:17, 26 July 2013 (EDT)
