Talk:Japan All-Star Series
Does anyone know the NPB MVPs? - --Mischa 20:37, 31 October 2006 (EST)
You deleted Murata, but according to the roster and the stats listed there, he had the most homers and RBI of any player on this year's team. - Randy 21:18 31 October 2006 (EST)
OTOH, Ogasawara led his league while Murata was only 4th in HR in the CL and Murata was barely in the top 10 in OPS, trailing Fukudome and Iwamura by a long distance. He certainly has had a far less impressive career than the guys we listed instead. If you want to reinclude him, that's fine. - --Mischa 21:21, 31 October 2006 (EST)
I defer to your greater knowledge of Japanese baseball. It's not my forte. - Randy 21:51 31 October 2006 (EST)
Should this page be moved to Nichi-Bei Series or something like that to reflect that it is a Japan (NPB)-United States (MLB) competition. Until 2000 or so the NPB team was exclusively Japanese and noted in game scores as "全日本." Also, I believe the "MLB MVPs" are actually the series MVPs. --MichaelEng (talk) 15:21, 3 November 2006 (EST)
I've seen it called exclusively the "Japan All-Star Series" in US news reports. - Randy 19:08 3 November 2006 (EST)
I've seen it identified as the MLB-NPB Series or such in some places. Is there an official name? It's not really an NPB all-star team as no gaijin like Woods or Seguignol are present. It's more like "some of Japan's better players on NPB teams" vs. "international All-Star team of players on MLB teams" - --Mischa 20:12, 4 November 2006 (EST)
The event's defunct now, right? - --Mischa 13:02, 22 September 2011 (EDT)
Can't find out who the MVP was this year so far - --Mischa (talk) 17:20, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
