Talk:Jack Stivers
The 7/22/47 Emira Star Gazette reported on an exhibition between the parent St. Louis Browns and the Elmira Pioneers. Stivetts pitched 2 innings for St. Louis. Apparently a large portion of the crowd was there cheering for Stivers as he was a local boy. He was still pitching for Northside in the state playoffs in mid-June of 1947, and his signing by the Browns was reported in mid-July, so I'm not sure he was actually at Valparaiso? He likely travelled with the Browns in 1947, but was never on the roster. Jeff (talk) 16:14, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
