Talk:Gene Budig
He should get a veterans tag. Do we know when he served? - Mischa (talk) 13:44, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
It was the Nebraska National Guard, not one of the services. I don't think that's enough for a veterans tag. Philippe (talk) 00:57, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
I thought National Guard service does warrant the veterans category. It might depend on the type of Guard duties? My father-in-law was reserves in Maine but also got to spend 11 months in Iraq thanks to President Bush so I would think he counts as a veteran even though he was a Guardsman. What about my brother-in-law, who has been both reserve and active-duty Coast Guard (during wartime) but never sent overseas, let alone to a combat zone. I'm not sure if our Category:Veterans really is clear on individuals such as Budig - Mischa (talk) 13:16, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
