I think Mr. Gordon left out an element from the article (if I recall it correctly) - how much the draft increased competitive balance. I think that made up for the "Yankees buying up all the talent" pre-draft, but then with free agency, we're back into the Yankees and Dodgers buying up all the talent again to some degree. - Mischa (talk) 20:14, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
