Talk:April 25
I think it's a little silly that the media makes a fuss about the "rookie" exploits of a Jose Abreu, Yu Darvish or Masahiro Tanaka when they've excelled for years in top-level leagues - just not in MLB. People keep harboring a delusion that the top players in the world are all in MLB; yes, it's a lot more than in the 1980s when Japanese and Cuban players stayed in their nations of origin, but there's still plenty of talent abroad. - --Mischa (talk) 08:37, 28 April 2014 (EDT)
Indeed, those guys have faced some of the best opponents in the world for years both domestically and internationally. But rookie records have some prominence, and those "somewhat rookies" are having really good starts to their U.S. careers. --Philippe (talk) 12:46, 28 April 2014 (EDT)
