Biographical information[edit]

Taisuke Ishimaru was a minor league pitcher from 1996 to 1998. He began his professional career with the Great Falls Dodgers, going 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA in nine games (two starts). He had 14 walks and only 11 strikeouts. In 1997, Ishimaru pitched for the AZL Mariners, going 1-1 with a 10.57 ERA in seven relief appearances. In 7 2/3 innings, he allowed only three hits but walked 16 batters and threw five wild pitches. He finished his career with the Duluth-Superior Dukes in 1998, going 0-0 with an 18.00 ERA in four relief appearances. He walked 11 batters in four innings.

Overall, Ishimaru went 1-2 with a 7.99 ERA in 20 games. He walked 41 batters in 32 2/3 innings of work.

His grandfather, Tokichi Ishimaru, was a second baseman for Nagoya in Nippon Professional Baseball and his great-uncle Shinichi Ishimaru also played pro ball.
