Súper Liga

The Súper Liga was established in 2002 as one of many attempts to form a summer league in Cuba to complement the winter Cuban Serie Nacional. As with past attempts, the league was smaller than the Serie Nacional, focusing on the better talents in the circuit (hence the name). In the first couple years of its existance, the clear top performer was Frederich Cepeda. As with past Cuban summer leagues, it did not draw the same level of fan support as the older winter league.
