Biographical Information[edit]

Stu Flythe pitched one season in the major leagues, with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1936. He had a problem with wildness: in his 39 1/3 innings, he gave up 61 walks and had 16 wild pitches. Nevertheless, manager Connie Mack saw enough in him to stick with him for 17 games. He led the American league in wild pitches; second was Johnny Allen with 13, in 243 innings.

Thedeadballera.com says that after his playing days he was a salesman for the Maola Milk and Ice Cream Company.
