Biographical Information

John Jackson pitched for four years in the Negro Leagues and two in the minors.

Jackson broke in with the Houston Eagles in 1950, going 0-1. He spent 1951-1953 with the Kansas City Monarchs. In the 1952 East-West Game, he relieved Dick Phillips in the 4th and threw three innings in the West's 7-3 win. He allowed two hits, two walks and a run while fanning two in three innings, and was 0 for 1 at the plate. The run came when Doc Dennis doubled in the 4th and Henry Kimbro singled him home.

In the 1953 East-West Game, Jackson tossed the last three innings in the West's 5-1 win; he allowed no hits and one walk in saving the game. He was 1 for 1 with a run at the plate. Jackson split 1954 between the Douglas Trojans (6-0) and Columbia Reds (7-12, 4.29). In 1955, he pitched for Douglas (3-1), Columbia (1-4) and the Sunbury Redlegs (3-7, 6.95).
