Biographical Information[edit]

Middle infielder Steve Springer had 14 seasons in the minors, coming to the majors for cups of coffee in 1990 and 1992. He was 29 years old when he got his first chance at the bigs. With the Cleveland Indians in 1990, he was the same age as teammate Candy Maldonado - who was already a well-established major league veteran by that point. With the New York Mets in 1992, he was the same age as teammate Howard Johnson, who was on the downside of a long career.

After baseball, Steve scouted for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Toronto Blue Jays, and served as a mental coach for the Blue Jays. Source: Steve Springer's web page [1]. Wikipedia (02-10-20) states that he was also a player agent.
