Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Steve Obenchain was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the supplemental first round of the 2002 amateur draft. He played six seasons in their organization, struggling with injuries during his last few years with the team. After being let go by the A's, he then split 2007 between two teams in the independent leagues: the Gary Southshore Railcats of the Northern League and the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
