Biographical Information

Steve Gossett pitched one season in the minors then became a scout and coach.

Gossett was with the independent 1985 Butte Copper Kings, going 4-4 with a 4.70 ERA in 14 games (9 starts); he walked 36 and struck out 35 in 67 innings. He was a pitching coach for the University of Redlands (1993), University of California, Riverside (1994-1995), Midland Lutheran College (1996-1998) and Cal State Northridge (1999-2001). He then scouted for the St. Louis Cardinals (2001-2008) and New York Mets (2008- ). He signed Jason Adam, Andrew Brown, Michael Fulmer, Blake King, Pete Kozma, Matt Reynolds, Skip Schumaker and Nick Stavinoha.
