Biographical Information[edit]

Brother of Barry Larkin, Stephen Larkin played one game with the Cincinnati Reds in 1998 and went 1 for 3. He played 11 years in minor league and independent ball, drawing walks well and stealing over 100 bases. He also played ball in Italy.

He attended Moeller High School in Cincinnati, OH and was at the University of Texas at the same time as Brooks Kieschnick and J.D. Smart. The New York Times of April 25, 1992 reported that Stephen had a heart condition that raised concern whether he could play ball safely, and he had to sign a waiver before university officials would allow him to play. He participated in the 1992 and 1993 College World Series.
