The Spartanburgers are a member of the Coastal Plain League. The team, formerly the Gastonia Grizzlies, relocated to Spartanburg, SC in 2021. They are the second CPL team to play in Spartanburg after the Spartanburg Stingers, who left town in 2007. The team name is unique as it is one word, not including the City or State in it's name.
