Team Bio[edit]

The Gastonia Grizzlies were a Summer Collegiate Baseball team that played in the Coastal Plain League. Founded in 2002, the Grizzlies won the Coastal Plain League West Division in their inaugural year with a 28-21 record, earning them a place in the Pettit Cup Championship Tournament where they were eliminated in the second round. The Grizzlies repeated their Pettit Cup performance in 2005 and 2006, making them one of the most successful franchises in CPL history. With the impending arrival of an Atlantic League team in town the Grizzlies moved to Spartanburg, SC for the 2021 season.
