Biographical Information[edit]
Shoji Hirota pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Hirota represented Japan in the 1998 Asian Games. The Fukuoka Daiei Hawks drafted him in the second round of the 1999 NPB draft. Hirota spent almost his entire career in the NPB Farm Leagues, and only pitched an inning in the Pacific League; he allowed 6 runs in that inning in 2001. He announced his retirement after the 2002 season
