Biographical Information[edit]
Shih-Hsien Wu pitched in the CPBL for 3 years.
Wu represented Taiwan in the 1984 World Junior Championship, 1985 World Junior Championship and 1986 World Junior Championship, becoming the rare player to win three medals in a World Junior Championship (two Bronzes and a Silver). The Mercuries Tigers signed him in 1997, and he had a 5.26 ERA in 4 games. He improved to a 2.25 ERA in 13 games in 1998, but his ERA rose to 5.06 in 23 appearances in 1999. The Tigers were expelled after the 1999 season, and Wu's professional career ended.
Overall, Wu was 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA, struck out 48 and pitched 96 1/3 innings in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
