Biographical Information[edit]

Sheng-Kai Lin caught in the CPBL for 4 years.

Lin was drafted by the La New Bears in the third round of the 2005 CPBL Draft, and he .292/.329/.462 in 20 games in 2005 in the minor league. He was 4-for-29 in 2006 with the big club, then he played 37 games with a .179/.236/.328 batting line in 2007. On May 15, 2007, he and Chung-Yi Huang both crushed a pinch-hit grand slam in the same game. This was the first time that two players got pinch-hit grand slams in the same game in Asian professional baseball history. Lin then blasted an extra-inning walk-off solo shot in the next game. However, that was the only highlight in his career. He lost the competition with Hao-Jan Huang for the catcher spot, and he only played 24 more games in the next two seasons until the Bears released him.

Overall, Lin had hit .156/.203/.259 with 21 hits in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
