Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Shawn Holtzclaw played in the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system from 1989 to 1991 and in independent baseball in 1993. In his first campaign, he hit .277/.331/.421 with 4 home runs and 40 RBI in 64 games to be named the Medicine Hat Blue Jays Most Valuable Player. In 1992, his only season appearing in 100 or more games, he hit .252/.327/.403 with 14 home runs and 72 RBI for the Myrtle Beach Blue Jays. He slumped to .245/.343/.332 in 90 games for the Dunedin Blue Jays in 1991 to wrap up his affiliated career. He briefly appeared with the independent Duluth-Superior Dukes in 1993, hitting .184/.298/.245 in 17 games. Overall, he batted .253/.331/.381 with 20 home runs and 148 RBI in 304 games over four seasons.
