Biographical Information[edit]

Seung-taek Han has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.

Han was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the 3rd round of the 2013 KBO draft, and he was 1-for-33 in his first season. The KIA Tigers then selected him as the compensation for losing free agent Yong-kyu Lee, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. Han was 5-for-28 in 2016 after returning, then he hit .229/.289/.277 in 96 games in 2017. He then represented Korea in the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship, and he was their starting catcher in all three games. Han was 0-for-4 against Japan, then he went 1-for-3 with a single against Kuan-Yu Chen of Chinese Taipei. In the Gold Medal Game, Han was 1-for-2 with a single against Kazuto Taguchi, but South Korea still lost to Japan with a 7-0 score. He was named the catcher of the All-Tournament team.

The Seoul native hit .247/.316/.416 in 2018, and he played a career-high 105 games with a .223/.299/.303 batting line in 2019. Han was still a reliable backup catcher in 2020, and his batting line was .226/.308/.372 in 83 games. He played 82 games with a .217/.321/.296 batting line in 2021, then he slumped to .177/.261/.226 in 2022. The Tigers then traded a second-round draft pick for catcher Hyo-sang Joo in 2023, and Han struggled as his batting line was .129/.245/.153 so Joo took his spot. He only played 20 games in 2024, and he was 3-for-11.
