Biographical Information[edit]
Seung-hwa Seo pitched in the KBO for 7 years.
Seo was drafted by the LG Twins in the 3rd round of the 1998 KBO draft, and he decided to go to college first. He represented South Korea in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup. Seo joined the Twins in 2002, and he had a 5.94 ERA in 27 games in his first season. He then had a 5.57 ERA in 46 appearances in 2003, and he collected 14 holds with a 5.58 ERA in 49 games in 2004. He was 8th in holds that season, tied with Jae-young Lee. Seo only pitched 9 games combined in the next two seasons, and he missed 2 years due to military service. He struggled again after returning as he allowed 12 runs in 10 1/3 innings in 2009, and he went 1-5 with a 6.75 ERA in 2010. Seo stayed in the minors for the entire 2011 season, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Seo was 1-5 with a 6.25 ERA, struck out 194 and pitched 259 innings in 7 seasons in the KBO.
