Biographical Information

Sebastián Vega pitched for the Chilean national team in the 2016 South American Championship. He started against Bolivia and went 3 2/3 IP (2 R, 6 H, 1 K) but got the win; Luciano Morales closed it out. In the 5th/6th place game, he relieved Bogdan Leyton in the 6th against Bolivia and tossed two shutout innings (2 H, 3 BB, 1 K) before Daniel Catalan closed out a 9-1 win.

In the 2018 South American Championship, he pitched one game, relieving Leyton in the bottom of the 7th with a 7-1 deficit against eventual champion Argentina. He was rocked for four hits and four runs in 1 1/3 IP before the game ended early to the mercy rule. Chile did win the Bronze.
