Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Sean Hoorelbeke played in the Chicago Cubs system in 2008 and 2009. He was taken by the club in the 33rd round of the 2008 amateur draft and was signed by scout Stan Zielinski.
He hit .322/.428/.510 in 58 games between the AZL Cubs (23 G, .388 BA) and Boise Hawks (35 G, .281 BA) in 2008, then .188/.278/.188 in 6 games for Boise in 2009. He also spent 29 games with the independent Traverse City Beach Bums in 2009, hitting .202/.350/.262. He had a .399 career on-base percentage, walking 54 times in 93 games.
His cousins, Jesse Hoorelbeke and Casey Hoorelbeke, played in the minor leagues.
