Biographical Information[edit]
Sean Henn was drafted by the New York Yankees as a draft-and-follow pick in the 26th round of the 2000 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mark Batchko in May 2001 for a $1.701 million bonus and made his pro debut that summer.
Henn's first major league win in 2007 closed a remarkable three-game series between the Yankees and the Cleveland Indians. For the first time in major league history, a team swept a series of three or more games, with each game giving a pitcher his first career major league win. The other winners were Chase Wright and Kei Igawa.
After being out of the majors for three full years, including the 2012 season spent with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization, Sean came back to the majors for 4 games with the New York Mets at the end of the 2013 season. His 3.38 ERA during that brief stint was the best of his 6 big league seasons.
