Biographical Information[edit]

Scott Thomas played as high as AAA; he is the son of Lee Thomas.

Scott was taken by the Boston Red Sox in the 43rd round of the 2003 amateur draft. He was a NAIA All-American in 2006 then was chosen by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 36th round of the 2006 amateur draft. He hit .190/.245/.246 as the third-string catcher for the State College Spikes that year. He was 10 for 26 with a double and a walk for the 2007 GCL Cardinals. In 2008, Thomas moved to the Philadelphia Phillies chain, appearing for the Williamsport Crosscutters (.235/.262/.314, 3 BB, 33 K in 108 PA as the backup to Travis d'Arnaud), Gateway Grizzlies (1 for 11) and Reading Phillies (0 for 3).

Thomas did not play in 2009-2010. In 2011, he was with two independent league teams, the Shreveport-Bossier Captains (13 for 39, 2B, 3 BB) and Road Warriors (5 for 35, 2 BB). Signed by the Baltimore Orioles (for whom his father was an executive at the time), he was an organizational backup in 2012, playing for the Frederick Keys (6 for 31), Bowie Baysox (3 for 13, 2B, BB) and Norfolk Tides (2 for 14).
