Biographical Information[edit]

Sang-hoon Han played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 11 years.

Han was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the 6th round of the 1999 KBO draft, and he decided to go to college first. He joined Hanwha in 2003, and he hit .196/.249/.248 in his first season. Due to his solid defense, Han secured a spot with the big club as a defense replacement. He represented South Korea in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, batting .261/.261/.348 with four RBI in six games; he backed up Keun-woo Jeong at 2B, Ji-hwan Son at SS and Kyung-hwan Choi in left. Han hit .197/.239/.225 in 2004, then he had a .214/.287/.268 batting line in 2005. He improved to .242/.307/.304 in 2006, and he recorded a .259/.331/.332 batting line as Hanwha's starting second baseman in 2007. However, Han slumped to .217/.291/.271 in 2008, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service.

The Seoul native returned in 2011, and he batted .269/.352/.337 with a career-high 16 steals. He hit .224/.352/.305 in 2012, then he played 101 games with a .262/.383/.342 batting line in 2013. Han suffered from an ankle injury in 2014, but he still improved to .286/.372/.360 in 77 games. However, Han's batting line fell to .230/.329/.295 in 2015, and the Eagles released him. He announced his retirement before the 2016 season.

Overall, Han hit .239/.323/.303 with 606 hits and 12 homers in 11 seasons in the KBO.
