Biographical Information[edit]
Sampath Ruwan Kumara pitched for the Sri Lankan national team.
Kumara allowed 17 runs (13 earned) in 6 innings in the 2017 Asian Championship but did strike out 7, second on his team (behind Tharindu Madumal). He took the loss against Sung-han Kim and South Korea in Sri Lanka's first Asian Championship game but then was part of a combined 2-0 shutout against Hong Kong five days later as part of Sri Lanka's first win. [1] In the 2019 Asian Championship, he was 0 for 3 and had 3 putouts. [2]
Pitching for the Army, he was named the best pitcher in Sri Lanka's 2022 cup. [3]
