Lightweight catcher Ryo Saeki has played for Honda in Japan's industrial leagues and for the Japanese national team.
Saeki played for Japan in the 2005 Asian Championship. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he was 3 for 12 with two walks and a run, backing up Tsutomu Takanezawa at catcher. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, Saeki went 2 for 6 with two walks and a run, backing up Kenji Suzuki for the Bronze Medal winners. Unlike 2005, someone tried stealing against him - Ryo threw them out. He is back with Japan for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
