Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ryan Tucker was selected by the Florida Marlins in the 1st round of the 2005 amateur draft. He signed with scout John Cole for a $975,000 bonus and made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Marlins. He went 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 8 games before being promoted to the Jamestown Jammers, where he went 1-1 with an 8.36 ERA in 4 starts. He spent the entire 2006 campaign with the Greensboro Grasshoppers and went 7-13 with a 5.00 ERA in 25 outings.

Tucker made his major league debut for the Marlins on June 8, 2008 by giving one run in five innings in a winning start against the Cincinnati Reds.
