Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Ryan Folmar was selected by the California Angels in the 46th round of the 1993 Amateur Draft but headed on to Oklahoma State University, playing in the 1996 College World Series. He signed with the Colorado Rockies and played in their minor league system in 1997-1998. He batted .207/.299/.322 in 32 games as a pro, throwing out 12% of those who tried to steal.
Folmar was Director of Baseball Operations at Oklahoma State from 1999 to 2003. He was then an assistant coach at Oral Roberts University from 2004 to 2012. Folmar became head coach in 2013. He has taken ORU to the College World Series Regionals in 2015-2018 and 2022-2023, advancing all the way to the 2023 College World Series.
