Biographical Information[edit]
Ruut Jongeling played for the Dutch national team. He threw a couple one-hitters in his career and played every position at least once.
Jongeling joined the highest level of Dutch baseball with RCH in 1951. He was with the Dutch B-team in 1952 and tossed a one-hitter against Belgium's B team. He one-hit OVVO later that year (Han Urbanus had the hit and countered with a one-hitter of his own. He debuted for the Dutch national team in 1953. He played left field and second base for the Netherlands in the 1956 European Championship; they won the Gold Medal. Away from the diamond, he helped organize and run ice skating events in Haarlem, Noord-Holland.
