Biographical Information[edit]
Roy Williams was a Negro League pitcher for nine years.
Roy debuted with the Pittsburgh Crawfords in 1931. He was 1-4 in 1932 then split 1933 between the Columbus Blue Birds (8-5) and Baltimore Black Sox (2-5) in his best season. Williams was a bit player for the 1934 Brooklyn Royal Giants and 1935 Brooklyn Eagles then retired. Returning in 1938, he saw little action in the next two years for the New York Black Yankees. He was 3-3 for the Black Yankees in 1940 and also spent part of that year with the Baltimore Elite Giants and Torreon Cotton Dealers (0-2, 16 R, 10 BB, 18 H in 14 IP). He ended up with Baltimore in 1941.
