Rosmel Blanco was 1-10 with a 12.82 ERA in a three-year career in the minor leagues. In a notable first season for the 1992 AZL Rockies/Cubs, he walked 18 in 2 2/3 IP, allowing 22 runs and six hits while striking out none. Teammate Chris Neier recalls that Blanco "had no idea where the ball was going..he was fantastic to watch...great guy too." With the GCL Cubs the next year, he improved to 0-5, 11.44 in six starts, walking 30 in 19 2/3 IP and striking out five. In '94, he returned to the GCL Cubs to go 0-3 with a 6.11 ERA, only 21 walks and 21 Ks in 28 innings while allowing 38 hits.
