Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Ronnie Richardson began his professional career in 2012.

He was originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 11th round of the 2009 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He was next taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 31st round of the 2011 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Michael Roth, but again didn't sign. He finally came to terms on a contract after being taken in the 16th round of the 2012 amateur draft by the San Diego Padres. The scout was Willie Bosque.

He hit .233/.396/.352 with 10 stolen bases and 27 walks in 52 games for the Eugene Emeralds in 2012. Between Eugene and the Lake Elsinore Storm in 2013, Richardson hit .274/.433/423 with 44 walks in 64 games -- including 38 passes in 48 games for Eugene, which gave him a .475 on-base percentage for the club. He batted .268/.401/.399 with 54 walks in 88 games with the Fort Wayne TinCaps in 2014.

Richardson became a coach with the Batavia Muckdogs in 2018. He was a coach for the FCL Rays in 2022 and Charleston RiverDogs in 2023-2024.

Richardson's father, Ronnie Sr., spent 5 years in the Boston Red Sox' chain.
