Biographical Information[edit]

In his debut, Ron Nischwitz pitched two perfect innings for the Detroit Tigers against the Baltimore Orioles on September 4, 1961, striking out three batters. In 1962, Nischwitz was the Tigers' most-used reliever, appearing in 48 games. On November 27, 1962, he was traded by the Tigers with Gordon Seyfried to the Cleveland Indians for Bubba Phillips.

In addition to his four years in the majors, he had nine years in the minors with a record of 63-46.

He was head coach at Wright State University from 1975 to 2004.
