Biographical Information[edit]

Rodney Rutherford played in the minor leagues.

Rutherford hit .373 and slugged .755 as a college senior, setting school records in homers (26), RBI (89), extra-base hits (39) and total bases (182). He led NCAA Division II in home runs and was named the All-American third baseman for Division II. The Oakland Athletics took him in the 20th round of the 2008 amateur draft.

Rodney hit .210/.322/.390 for the 2008 Vancouver Canadians and fielded only .816 at the hot corner. Used as a first baseman-catcher for Vancouver in 2009, he batted .209/.289/.284 with 20 whiffs in 67 AB.
