Biographical Information[edit]
Robbie Kison played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team. His father is former major league pitcher Bruce Kison.
Kison began his professional career with the Cincinnati Reds in 1999 (after being an undrafted free agent), and he hit .236/.349/.364 in 20 games for the Clinton LumberKings that season. He also played 9 games for the Billings Mustangs, and he had 7 appearances apiece with the Rockford Reds and GCL Reds. Kison struggled again in 2000 as his batting line was .226/.392/.261 with the Dayton Dragons, and he also played 34 games with a .207/.318/.217 batting line for the Clinton LumberKings.
He hit .250/.331/.333 for the Mudville Nine in 2001, and he left the Reds organization after that season. Kison signed with Les Capitales de Québec in 2002, and he had a .311/.375/.413 batting line in 80 games. He missed the Northern League top-ten in average by .002. He hit .186/.278/.275 in Quebec in 2003, and he had a .210/.311/.268 batting line for the Jackson Senators that season. He represented the USA in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, hitting .231/.313/.308 with 5 runs in 5 games and fielding .941 at short, which he split with Alex Eckelman. The 2003 season was his last season as a professional player.
Overall, Kison hit .245/.343/.317 with 255 hits and 7 homers in 5 seasons as a professional player.
