He was assistant coach at the University of Central Florida from 1992-1996, then scouted for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1996-2005), New York Mets (2005-2007) and San Diego Padres (2008- ). He signed Bobby Bradley, Andrew McCutchen, Blake Tekotte, Cole Figueroa, Miles Mikolas,Todd Redmond and Keyvius Sampson among others.
