Biographical Information[edit]

Rob Sasser was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the tenth round (292nd overall) in the 1993 amateur draft. He played in the minors from 1993 to 2006 in seven different organizations. Due to a player shortage due to trades, he was called up to the big leagues for exactly one day in 1998 and was fortunate enough to get one at-bat, in which he fouled out. He began 2006 in AA, playing for the Chicago White Sox farm team, the Birmingham Barons, where he hit .233 in 39 games. He retired in midseason to become the Barons' hitting coach, and in 2007, he filled the same role for the Great Falls White Sox. He was a coach for the Winston-Salem Warthogs in 2008, Winston-Salem Dash in 2009-2011, Kannapolis Intimidators in 2012, Winston-Salem again 2013 and Kannapolis again in 2014.
