Biographical Information[edit]

Rob Benjamin played college ball at junior college powerhouse Tallahassee Community College before transferring to Baruch College where he led his team to the conference championship in 2001 and earned Player of the Year honors. He later earned bachelor's and master's degrees in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Benjamin has extensive experience coaching at both the college level and working in private academies.

Benjamin joined the Seattle Mariners minor league system in 2019 as a hitting instructor for the DSL Mariners. The Mariners promoted him to West Virginia Power hitting coach prior to the 2020 minor league season shutdown caused by COVID-19. Benjamin was hitting coach for the Modesto Nuts in 2021.

The New York Yankees hired Benjamin to serve as the hitting coach for the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2022 and defensive coach of Hudson Valley in 2023.
