Biographical Information[edit]
Rikuto Yokoyama has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Yokoyama was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the fourth round of the 2019 NPB draft. He spent his first three seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, only playing 11 games combined with the big club.[1] Yokoyama joined the bullpen of the Marines in 2023, and he notched 8 holds with a 5.26 ERA in 38 appearances. He then made it onto Japan's roster for the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship. He relieved Chihiro Sumida in the 8th inning against South Korea, and he pitched a shutout inning with 2 strikeouts (off Seung-kyu Park and Do-yeong Kim). Japan beat South Korea in the title game and won Gold.[2]
Yokoyama's repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 96.3 mph, a slider, cutter and a slider.[3]
