Biographical information[edit]

Ricky Gutierrez played college ball at the University of Oklahoma. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 22nd round of the 1993 Amateur Draft and by the Cleveland Indians in the 28th round of the 1994 Amateur Draft. He played in the Indians minor league system from 1994-1998 reaching as high as AA. Overall Gutierrez hit .257/.338/.343 while appearing in 317 games.

After completing his playing career, Gutierrez was a hitting coach for the Columbus Red Stixx in 1999 and a coach for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2001.
